  • The lesson I learned from the story is that we should never lose hope of surviving. We should not value our lives by an object such as falling leaves because it is a sin to want to die. 
  • Another lesson is sacrifice. Mr. Behrman gives up his life for Johnsy so that she can live. He paints his masterpiece, "The Last Leaf," which gives Johnsy hope for the future.
